International students make a huge contribution to medicine in the UK. The NHS prides itself on its diversity, including the international makeup of its doctors and healthcare professionals.

We recognise that being away from home can be difficult and studying as an international student can present unique and often overlooked issues and concerns. From support and advice regarding student fees, student welfare and learning and professional development, we aim to offer useful services to support international medical students during their studies and beyond. We also aim to represent their voice at the national level.  

Some of the work we’ve done as part of the international students portfolio, and aim to continue doing, has been highlighted in this blog written by Ehsas, the international students lead 2024-26.
