Our leadership programmes are free, CPD-accredited courses that aim to instil positive leadership values in BMA members, equipping you with the skills and confidence needed to effectively lead others.

The programme is formed of two parts and the sessions are designed to be engaging, interactive and thought-provoking.

The programme surpassed my expectations. It will make me reflect on my own leadership skills and improve them.
Committee member

BMA leadership programme: part 1 (formerly known as foundation level)

Part one of the programme focuses on three core elements:

  • personal awareness
  • effective committee meetings
  • leadership and team dynamics.

 

BMA leadership programme: part 2 (formerly known as advanced level)

Part two of the programme has been designed as a follow-up course and focuses on three core elements:

  • change leadership
  • resolving conflict
  • facilitating collaborative decision-making. 

 

A must for anyone who works on committees of any organisation.

How to apply

These programmes are open to all BMA committee members.

Sessions are provided by an external facilitator and take place throughout the year. Courses are currently being run online.

Places for sessions are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

When dates have been confirmed, we will contact committee members directly via email to advertise the programme.
