Medical neutrality is a key principle in international humanitarian law, and we adhere to it. A statement in response to the attack on Soroka hospital in Israel was not published at the time, due to an error of internal process. It is now published, as it was written in June and shown below:

The BMA is appalled by the airstrike on Soroka hospital in Southern Israel. Healthcare is protected under international humanitarian law and should not be the subject of attacks, as we have repeatedly asserted throughout the crisis in the Middle East. The BMA continues to call for respect for medical neutrality.
