What does a BMA rep do?
Reps are the voice of doctors at work. You listen to colleagues, organise around shared concerns and help members act together. Whether that is tackling rota gaps and unsafe staffing to improving pay, contracts, facilities and working conditions - you can improve the working lives of your colleagues.
How we support reps
You do not need previous experience as a rep to get involved. We provide training, practical resources and support from BMA officers as well as a network of fellow reps. Once you are accredited, you may also access paid time off for training and trade union duties.
Why should you become a BMA rep?
Change starts where you work. Becoming a rep gives you the chance to:
make a positive difference for your colleagues
influence workplace conditions and wider BMA policy
organise doctors around the issues that matter
access training, expert support and a network of fellow reps.
Our strength comes from doctors acting together across workplaces, specialties and career stages. Become a rep and help build the movement shaping the future of our profession.
We will email fortnightly with content that is relevant to your profession.
