About this event

The BMA Private practice committee represents doctors engaged in private practice (i.e. looking after self pay patients and patients with private medical insurance).

Doctors working within independent healthcare are continually having to adapt their practices to an ever-changing landscape. This conference will look at the ‘ins and outs’ of private general practice to equip GPs with the tools they need to set up in/transition to the private sector.

For new entrants to the sector, attending the conference in person will also offer the opportunity to network with conference speakers and colleagues with similar plans.

Conference highlights

Presentations will include:

  • An overview of the economics of private healthcare for GPs
  • Transitioning from the NHS to private general practice
  • Setting up in private practice as a GP
  • Accounting in private general practice
  • Employment advice for private GPs
  • CQC registration for private GPs

Networking reception

An informal reception offering more information and networking opportunities will be held at the close of the conference programme from 4.30 – 5.30pm for those delegates attending in person.
