Conference format

First-time attendees workshop

Friday 12 May 2017

If you have never attended a BMA conference before, there is an optional half-day session that will prepare you for the next day's event. This is an opportunity to discuss key issues, learn about conference procedures and develop motions to be debated during Saturday's conference.

All workshop attendees are also invited to an informal dinner in the evening. If you would like to attend, please let us know via the online registration form.


Saturday 13 May 2017

The conference will open at 9.15am with registration and refreshments. Conference will begin debating motions at 10am and is due to close at 5.30pm.

Social events

A dinner will be held on Saturday 13 May from 7.30pm with a drinks reception from 6.30pm. The conference dinner will take place at BMA House.

If you would like tickets to attend the dinner, please let us know by Friday 5 May. Tickets for the dinner cost £35.00, which is reimbursable for conference attendees.

Representatives are very welcome to bring a guest to the dinner; the cost is £35.00 for BMA members and £50.00 for non-members.

Motions must be submitted by 10am on Monday 27 March 2017 through your regional junior doctors committee.

The grassroots event and conference are free and open to all junior doctors, both BMA members and non-members. Seats are allocated regionally on a first come, first served basis.

Refundable payments of £35.00 are required for the grassroots dinner and conference dinner.
