Responding to the attack on Heaton Park Synagogue in Manchester, BMA council chair Dr Tom Dolphin said:
“The BMA is appalled by the horrific attack on a synagogue in Manchester. For such an attack to take place on Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar, makes this atrocity all the more sickening. Antisemitism has no place in our society and we condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Our thoughts are with all those affected, and we send our gratitude and solidarity to emergency workers responding in Manchester.”
