About this event

To mark International Women’s Day (IWD), the Women in Academic Medicine group is hosting a cross‑professional webinar with colleagues from the legal profession, to spotlight the systemic issues of sexism, harassment and violence experienced by women across both professions. The event supports the 2026 IWD theme #GiveToGain, focusing on reciprocity, allyship, and practical support for women’s organisations, including Surviving in Scrubs and the Medical Women’s Federation.

What to expect from this event

This event aims to:

  • provide “on the ground” perspectives from both early career and senior professionals
  • enable open discussion through a moderated cross sector panel
  • highlight opportunities for participants to contribute meaningfully through the IWD 2026 theme #GiveToGain initiative.
