About this event
Doctors working within independent healthcare are continually having to adapt their practices to an ever-changing landscape. This conference will look at the ‘ins and outs’ of private practice from the logistics of setting up a private practice for the first time to making sure established practitioners are reaching their maximum potential. For new entrants to the private sector, attending the conference in person will offer a chance to network with colleagues who have already established and run successful practices.
Conference highlights
Presentations will include:
- an overview of the economics of private healthcare;
- campaigning for doctors engaged in private practice;
- the relationship between the NHS and the private sector;
- what AI can do to assist doctors engaged in private practice.
The conference will also address topics such as accounting in private general practice, ‘know your worth’ (for consultants) and what consultants can and can’t do regarding challenging PMIs legally.
Parallel sessions
As part of the programme, you will have an opportunity to attend one of the following parallel sessions scheduled to take place during the afternoon.
Parallel session 1: primary care
This session will focus on providing practical advice that GPs may find very helpful when setting up in private practice. It will also cover current issues facing private GPs.
Parallel session 2: secondary care
This session will give advice on aspects of contemporary secondary care that consultants will find very useful as they set up in private practice. There will also be discussions on engagement with private hospital groups.
Networking reception
An informal reception offering more information and networking opportunities will be held at the close of the conference programme from 4.30 – 5.30pm for those people attending in person.
