The BMA is appalled by the bombing of Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza. Medical facilities are protected under international humanitarian law; patients should not be killed in their beds and neither should the doctors and other healthcare professionals treating them.

We reiterate our call for restraint and respect for international humanitarian law. Governments around the world must condemn this loss of civilian life and work to ensure all humanitarian needs are met.
