Responding to today's news of attacks on doctors' protests in Iran, Dr Kitty Mohan, BMA international committee chair, said:

“We are deeply concerned at reports of attacks by Iranian security forces on doctors peacefully protesting outside the Tehran Medical Council. This rally, we understand, was held in protest against the killing of civilians and the misuse of medical equipment and facilities. We stand in solidarity with our Iranian colleagues, and call on the Iranian authorities to fully adhere to their human rights obligations, including the right to peaceful demonstration.”
