Promoting faith equality in medicine

Faith is an important aspect of many doctor and medical students’ identity. Understanding the needs of different faith groups can help foster environments where everyone feels welcome and included, and able to be themselves.

Religion/belief is a protected characteristic under the Equality Act. The BMA is committed to promoting equal rights and opportunities, proactively tackling discrimination in all forms, and championing the contribution of doctors and medical students of all faiths and none.
