As part of this, we have signed up to the Disability Confident scheme. Through Disability Confident we are ensuring that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.

The BMA has signed the Charter for 'Employers who are positive about mental health'. As a Mindful Employer, the BMA is committed to creating a positive and open culture about mental health.

We recognise the importance of raising awareness of mental health and providing support to staff in need. We aim to implement good practices in recruiting and retaining valued and talented members of staff.

Business disability forum (BDF)

The BMA is a member of the Business Disability Forum, a not-for-profit member organisation dedicated to the creation of disability-smart organisations.

Disability-smart organisations make it both easier and more rewarding to employ and work with people with disabilities by providing practical advice, training and facilitating networking opportunities. Being a part of this Forum means that we can be at the forefront of disability best practice.
