How to get a seat at ARM 2021
There are three routes for interested BMA members to use for attendance at the ARM:
- you can seek one of the 280 seats allocated to BMA divisions
- you can apply (via the regional councils in England and BMA national councils in the devolved nations) for division seats which the divisions have been unable to fill
- you can seek one of the seats allocated to your branch of practice.
For full details on getting a seat and availability, view the guide below.
About the ARM
The ARM (annual representatives meeting) considers any proposed changes to byelaws and proposes amendments to the articles of association for the approval of the AGM (annual general meeting). It is established under the articles of association and is constituted in accordance with the byelaws.
The RB (representative body) is made up of constituent bodies that sends elected representatives to the ARM each year to debate on and pass new BMA policies. It also conducts various elections, considers reports from council, the board, and committees.
