ARM 2020 has been adjourned until September 2020

Following the decision to cancel or re-arrange all face-to-face BMA meetings as the NHS works to contain the spread of coronavirus, BMA Council has adjourned this year’s Annual Representative Meeting, due to be held in June 2020, until at least September 2020.

As the spread of coronavirus continues to escalate, it is vital that our members can be where they need and want to be on the frontline supporting their colleagues and patients (and prioritising what spare time they have to rest or spend as they wish).

This is not a decision that has been taken lightly, but it has become clear from the emerging clinical evidence and the implications of holding a four-day meeting of over five hundred frontline clinicians at this time, that alternative arrangements would have to made.
