Applications for the 2017 foundation grants will soon be open, with a total of £575,000 available to scientists and doctors involved in medical research projects.
The funding is made up of 11 separate grants, including the James Trust which provides £65,000 for research into asthma and the Margaret Temple grant which provides £50,000 for research into schizophrenia.
Some of the grants are also available to fund cross-specialty research areas, such as the Helen H Lawson grant that provides £50,000 for research into novel health technologies and the Kathleen Harper grant that provides £50,000 for research into the impact of working pressures on the medical profession.
Applications open on 5 December. Find out about funding areas or email the BMA for more information.
