Further changes to general practice quality targets were announced this week.
They include increasing the QOF (quality and outcome framework) points related to planning care for patients with dementia in light of the growing number of people with the condition.
The changes agreed between the BMA GPs committee and NHS Employers also include further points for atrial fibrillation to reflect the workload involved.
Total QOF points remain the same but the changes for 2015/16 have been made possible through the retirement of some indicators for chronic kidney disease and coronary heart disease.
