This event is only for current BMA members who are UK consultants. Please register to confirm your place at the conference.
The UK consultants conference is your opportunity to discuss issues that affect you and to influence the work of the BMA’s UK consultants committee on issues ranging from the pandemic, the Government's pay award and resulting pressures facing the health service. The key focus will be the value of the consultant workforce.
Agenda
This year’s virtual conference will include structured debate of motions and a panel session on the value of the consultant workforce. More details will be announced closer to the event.
Motions for debate
Motions for debate must be submitted in advance by MSCs (or LNCs if no MSC) and regional consultants committees. The deadline for submission of motions is noon on Monday 15 March 2021.
Members are encouraged to use the BMA’s motions advisory service, which offers support to anyone writing or considering writing a motion to the conference.
The service can advise:
- whether the BMA already has similar policy in your chosen area
- provide you with sources for facts and figures to support your argument
- signpost you to further guidance on the topic
- provide guidance on the form BMA motions should take.
Induction and further information
Ahead of the conference we will share a video induction followed by an invite to a drop-in session for those who have not previously attended the conference, to ensure that you are familiar with the format for debate. We will also share details of how the virtual format and conference will work.
Care facilities
Care facilities for children and adult dependants are available for those who request them by Wednesday 14 April 2021. If you would like further information on care facilities, please indicate this on the registration form.
