Choose from three subjects:
Facilitator: Sophia Bourne
We differentiate assertive behaviour from passivity, aggression, and passive aggression, and discuss where and why we find it challenging to be assertive. We work on building confidence, and setting boundaries for ourselves and others. Finally, we learn and model the language of assertiveness, constructing responses that help us deal with common challenging patient and colleague scenarios.
Managing your response to workload pressure
Facilitator: Gwen Knowles
Starting off by understanding our pressure responses, we will unpack expectations of us as doctors – both our own and those of others. By encouraging greater self-awareness and reflection, we will start to understand our flash points and triggers. From this, we will explore ways of managing our responses to establish greater control and strengthen our ability to handle work pressure.
Planning and organisation
We look at your current methods, evaluating what is and isn’t working. After exploring barriers and enables to effective planning, we look at a range of techniques for you to set-up efficient systems that enable better management of your time.
