What is the junior doctors conference?
The junior doctors conference takes place once a year and acts as the primary BMA policy setting body for junior doctors in the UK.

Who can attend?
The conference is open to all junior doctors both BMA members and non-members. Places are allocated regionally on a first come, first served basis.
Grassroots seminar - Friday 17 May 2019
If you have never attended a BMA conference before, there is an optional training session the day before that will prepare you for the event. This is an opportunity to discuss key issues, learn about conference procedures and develop motions to be debated during Saturday's conference.
All seminar attendees are also invited to an informal dinner in the evening. If you would like to attend, please let us know via the online registration form.
Conference - Saturday 18 May 2019
The conference will open at 9.15am with registration and refreshments. Conference will begin debating motions at 10am and is due to close at 5.30pm.
A dinner will be held on Saturday 18 May at 8pm with a drinks reception from 7.15pm.
If you would like tickets to attend the dinner, please book your place by Friday 3 May. Tickets for the dinner cost £35, which is reimbursable for conference attendees.
Representatives are very welcome to bring a guest to the dinner; the cost is £35 for BMA members and £50 for non-members.
Expenses and getting time off work

Upon registration, you will receive a standard letter from the BMA outlining your trade union leave entitlement to attend the conference.
Child and dependant care facilities
Child and dependant care facilities can be made available by the BMA in order to support your attendance at the conference. Please request further information about this on the conference application form.

Motions must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 1 March 2019 through your regional junior doctors committee.
The conference agenda committee have produced motion writing guidance to assist members in developing well worded and resonant motions.
