About the grants

We have been awarding grants to support medical research since 1839.

Every year, around 10 research grants totalling £500,000 are awarded to winning applications.

The grants provide funding for a variety of different subject areas, ranging from research into rheumatism and arthritis, to cardiovascular disease, cancer and neurological disorders.

Applications for the 2016 research grants are now closed and submissions are being reviewed.
