The BMA briefed MPs ahead of a debate in the House of Commons on the impact of exiting the EU on science and research.
The UK’s decision to leave the EU will have major implications for our science and research base.
We have identified four key areas which the government needs to address as a matter of urgency to protect and maintain the UK’s leading science and research interests:
- ongoing access to EU research programmes and research funding
- the need for a flexible immigration system
- access to collaborative research projects
- and a common regulatory environment.
