About the urgent prescription for general practice
When we launched Urgent Prescription for General Practice in January 2016, the profession was facing some of its toughest challenges, with workload and patient demand at unprecedented levels, as highlighted in our report Responsive, safe and sustainable.
Get practical support, resources and templates to help you manage your daily work.
Our campaign served to highlight these challenges, offer solutions to government, and provide advice and support for practices on how to deal with these issues. We campaigned for:
- safe, manageable workload
- more time with patients
- increased practice funding
- more staff to support GPs
- less box ticking
Our Saving general practice campaign is an initiative that continues the work we began with the Urgent Prescription campaign, and seeks to highlight urgent steps which need to be taken to save general practice.
