Access our e-services
As the BMA library is closed due to COVID-19, our postal loan service remains suspended.
You can still access many of our services online:
- an extensive range of e-books and e-journals
- free ClinicalKey comprehensive content and learning tools
- literature searches and research assistance
- expert advice and support for your specialty training
- complete your research by ordering copies of articles from any of our journals.
Requesting items from other libraries
Due to COVID-19, we are currently unable to request books from other libraries on your behalf.
However, as a member you can still request copies of articles that are not available in our library collection.
You can return items by post or return them to BMA House.
Returning items by post
Each book has got a return address label on it. We recommend getting a 'proof of postage' certificate when sending books back to us, which you can get free at any post office.
If an item is lost in the mail you will be liable to pay for the replacement cost if you do not have a proof of postage certificate.
Qualified members of the BMA who have completed their foundation years training get a standard return address label and need to pay the return postage costs.
For student members, foundation doctors (FY1 and FY2), and those registered with the BMA's Refugee Doctor Initiative, we provide a reply-paid label to return the items back to us free of charge.
Returning items to BMA House
Use the book return box just inside the security lodge entrance at BMA House. The security lodge is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so books can be returned at any time.
