Quality first templates

GP on phone

Practices across the UK can download template letters to help manage inappropriate workload. These can be imported directly into EMIS, SystmOne and Vision, to be personalised and sent to the appropriate CCG or hospital trust.

“The BMA Quality First document was a game-changer of recent times in terms of highlighting the importance of managing GP workload. The template letters showed GPs that it is right and proper for us to resist the imposition of new work by third parties, thus allowing us to focus on meeting the reasonable needs of all our patients. Only last week, I sent such a letter to a local pre-admissions clinic. I am delighted to see that these template letters have now been converted into a format easily integrated into all the commonly used clinical IT systems.”
