We are really proud of the awards we have won. Read more about our achievements below.

  • Association Excellence Awards

    The Association Excellence Awards recognise excellence in professional and trade associations in the UK and Europe.

    In 2017, we won the award for the Best Advancement of a Cause for our Clarity on NHS seven-day services work.

    We were also a finalist for Best Association Website.

  • AVA Awards

    The AVA digital awards recognise excellence by creative professionals responsible for planning, concept, direction, design and production of digital communication. 

    In 2016, the BMA won:

  • British Media Awards

    The British Media Awards recognise those using innovation and excellence in the industry to drive growth, create value and solve the issues we’re all faced with.

    In 2016 we were shortlisted for editorial campaign of the year for our work on the junior doctors contract.

  • British Society of Magazine Editors

    The British Society of Magazine Editors Rising Star Awards honour the best in British magazines.

    In 2016 we won the best original feature idea (digital) category with A year in the life of a junior doctor, and were shortlisted in the same category for The right mix.

  • Communicator Awards

    The Communicator Awards recognise big ideas in communications and marketing, honouring work that made a lasting impact.

    In 2016 we won:

  • Digital Impact Awards

    The Digital Impact Awards sets the industry-wide benchmark in digital stakeholder engagement. The event honours the best corporate digital communications work in Europe.

    In 2016 we were highly commended in the best use of digital by sector: charity, NGO or NFP category for our new website.

  • Guild of Health Writers

    The Guild of Health Writers' Awards are given for outstanding work published in print or online.

    In 2016 we won second place in the online category for Tammy Lovell's blog, NHS brain drain: why the busman's holidays?

  • LOVIE Awards

    The LOVIE Awards recognise the unique and resonant nature of the European Internet community – from Europe’s top web and creative networks and content publishers, to cultural and political organisations and individual creators.

    In 2016 the BMA won the gold award for Is this ethical trade? in the best writing, editorial category.

    We were also shortlisted in the same category for A year in the life of a junior doctor.

  • Medical Journalists' Association Awards

    The Medical Journalists' Association Awards celebrate excellence in medical and health journalism.

    2017

    For the second time in succession we won blogger of the year, this time with junior doctor Miranda Barry's blog Employer's don't give a teabag for our morale

    We were also shortlisted for News story of the year (specialist audience) for Peter Blackburn's story Capital crisis: STP money fails to materialise

    2016

    In 2016 we won blogger of the year for Rachel Clarke's blog The NHS - not fit to fly

    2015

    In 2015 we won awards for health education with Real doctors and the personal story category with Peter Docherty's blog What could be done for the baby wrapped in newspaper?

  • PR moment

    The PR moment Awards celebrate excellence and recognise and reward outstanding campaigns and exceptional talent in the UK PR and Communications sector.

    2017

    In 2017 the British Medical Association won the Internal Communications Campaign of the Year, recognising the success of the launch campaign for the BMA's intranet, the Loop. 

    The BMA was also shortlisted in two other categories for our campaign showusthe7dayplan which challenged the UK government to answer key questions about their plans to introduce seven-day services.

     

    2016

    The British Medical Association was shortlisted twice in 2016 in the Best Media Relations Campaign of the Year - In-House Award category.

    Shortlisted work recognised the media team's work on:

    • Consultant and junior doctor contract negotiations
    • GP influencing
  • UK Digital Experience awards

    The UK Digital Experience Awards celebrate and recognise the best digital experience businesses in the UK.

    In 2016 the BMA's new website was shortlisted in the best digital experience non-for-profit/charity category.
