The results of the election to the BMA Council for 2018-2022 are now available.

This year, BMA council increased in size rising from 34 to 64 voting members along with a number of ex-officio members.

South east coast region by-election

The election is now completed. Dr Richard Mithen and Dr Gaurav Gupta have been elected to BMA Council for four year terms. 

 

About BMA Council 

The BMA is a trade union and Council is its principal executive committee. Council sets the strategic direction of the BMA, in line with policy decided by at the annual representative meeting in June. 

It is responsible for the formulation of policy throughout the year between ARMs and for ensuring the implementation of that policy. 

It normally meets six times in the year from June onwards, and usually in BMA House in London, from 10am to 5pm.

Council currently consists of 64 voting members along with a number of ex-officio members.
