Local Negotiating Committees (LNCs) in Scotland

LNCs represent doctors of all grades who are employed directly by health boards in Scotland.

They have a mandate to negotiate on issues affecting terms and conditions of service, working arrangements or other matters affecting doctors' working lives.

The BMA has a local negotiating committee in every territorial health board in Scotland and in non-territorial special health boards who employ doctors directly.

The vast majority of junior doctors will be employed by one of the lead employers in the north (NHS Grampian), east (NHS Lothian) or west (NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde). All GP trainees and some national programmes will be employed directly by NHS Education for Scotland.

To find details of contacts and what’s going on in each LNC, please go to our Scottish LNC information hub. Alternatively, please use the contact details below to get in touch.
