This BMA Local covers all BMA members (almost 2500) working in the Norfolk and Waveney area. The BMA has members in GP practices across the 5 CCGs in the area and in 5 NHS Trusts as well as student members at NNUH. The majority of our members in the area are registered as living in Norwich.
There are currently three BMA Divisions in the area but all are currently dormant. This BMA Local gives members in the area an opportunity to maintain their engagement with the BMA at a local level.

We plan to run a survey of members and will then aim to put on a series of local events for you to get involved and find out about what we do and what is going on in the area.
Your Local Negotiation Committee
Each of the NHS Trusts in the area have Local Negotiating Committees (LNC) which negotiate with the local Trust management and represent the views of doctors at that work place.
If you work in an NHS Trust you may want to get more involved and become a member of the LNC or you may want to raise an issue with those that sit on the LNC. You might just want to hear what is going on in your work place.
You can do all this by contacting your Industrial Relations Officer (IRO):

Norfolk and Waveney Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP)
This is a plan for the future transformation of health and care services in the area and how the five year forward view will be delivered across the county.
Its aim is to meet the health and wellbeing needs of the population, improve and maintain the quality of care for the population and close the financial gap. Stakeholders from the CCGs, LAs and NHS trusts are involved.
