BMA briefing pack for local representatives appointed to SHA clinical pathway groups
As part of the NHS Next Stage Review, in August 2007, Strategic Health Authorities (SHAs) in England were instructed to set up 8 clinical pathway groups each, to look at the following areas: maternity and newborn care, children’s services, acute care, long-term conditions, staying healthy, planned care, mental health and end of life care.
Following a co-ordinated nomination process led by the BMA locally, 97 places for local BMA representatives to sit on clinical pathway groups were secured.
A BMA briefing pack (electronic) was sent to all BMA representatives, which included the following documents :
