Information Fund
The BMA International Department runs the BMA Information Fund which considers requests for health information from organisations in developing countries and other areas of need. The fund does not grant money but makes donations of educational materials, such as books, CD-ROMs and videos. We are limited by a budget of £30,000 but we are inviting applications from health care institutions, health NGOs and similar organisations. This year, we would particularly welcome applications from medical school libraries or other organisations involved in the training of medical and health students. Please note that we are unable to consider requests from individuals.
To donate the books, the BMA is working in partnership with Teaching Aids at Low Cost (TALC). If you would like your organisation to be considered for a donation from the Fund, please download and complete in full the application form on the right hand side of this page. Please select the items you require from the TALC booklist which can also be downloaded from this page.
Completed application forms and booklists should then be sent to the BMA by e-mail to internationalinfo@bma.org.uk, by post to British Medical Association, BMA House, Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9JP, United Kingdom, or by fax on +44 (0) 207 383 6644.
The closing date for this year's round of applications is 19 September 2008.
Addition: A number of copies of the 1st edition of the Royal College of Physicians Medical Masterclass are also available. This is a versatile study package that helps doctors to improve their medical skills and knowledge and comprises 12 printed modules and 60 interactive case studies on CD-ROM.
The twelve printed modules cover the scientific background to medicine, general clinical issues, emergency medicine and practical procedures, and eight cover the range of medical specialties that are covered in the MRCP(UK) examinations
