Guidance for health professionals
This guidance looks at the responsibilities of health professionals who may encounter victims or potential victims of forced marriage, particularly in relation to the handling of confidential information. Where they come across either child or adult victims of forced marriage, we recommend that they consult the appropriate sections of the BMA’s detailed separate guidance for health professionals on child protection or domestic violence and abuse.
