The Scottish Government consultation on the proposed action in Scotland to take forward Professor Sir John Tooke's recommendations from the independent inquiry was published in January at the following link: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2008/01/07144119/0. BMA Scotland will be responding to the consultation in due course.

Update - 28 February
Today the Department of Health responded to Sir John Tooke’s independent inquiry into MMC in England. Whilst accepting the majority of his recommendations, the government has delayed its response to the recommendation of setting up “NHS: Medical Education England (NHS:MEE).“ The BMA will continue to push for its establishment through our representation on the Programme Board, the Next Steps Review and additional meetings with all major stakeholders.
