Supplement for ST2 trainees in general practice in Northern Ireland

15th August 2008

You may be aware that the General Practitioners Committee (GPC) had recently been informed that ST2 GP trainees on general practice placements in Northern Ireland would be paid a supplement of only 20%, rather than the full supplement of 50%. We are pleased to inform you that following discussions between the GPC and the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA), we have now been notified that these trainees will receive the full supplement of 50%. NIMDTA have confirmed that ST2 trainees in general practice placements should already have been receiving the full supplement, and will continue to do so.

From the link on the right, you can download a letter from Brian Dunn, Chairman of Northern Ireland GPC. The letter confirms the above, and offers further advice and guidance.
