University of Leeds: Digest of health-related research funding and training opportunities - Winners of the 1999 Healthcare IT Effectiveness Award for the 'Best Publically Accessible Database of Health-related Information', this database provides researchers with direct access to up to the minute information on health-related funding and training opportunities. It also contains a wealth of links to other funding organisations.

Association of Medical Research Charities - this site provides general information about AMRC member charities and incorporates a "Grant Search" database to assist those who wish to apply for grants from member organisations. The Association itself does not act as an agent in the processing of research applications.

UK Research Office - UKRO is a subscriber based organisation providing information and advice primarily to UK organisations on European Union funded opportunities for research and higher education.

The Grants Register - reference book published by MacMillan Reference Ltd which should be available in any good library. It is a comprehensive guide to worldwide professional and postgraduate funding.

The Institute of Medical Ethics - The Institute of Medical Ethics award 10 bursaries of up to £500 each, in support of UK medical student electives on issues in medical ethics. Medical students, jointly with their supervisor are invited to apply by January 31 2008. Application forms and guidelines may be obtained from:
