Read Codes for the Quality and Outcomes Framework

The latest version of the business rulesets includes the Read codes, which support the Quality and Outcomes Framework clinical domains. These are available on the IM&T - Quality and Outcomes Framework section of the Department of Health website.

These rulesets are the definitive expression of the indicators, including the exception codes. Please note that this information is mainly intended for software suppliers and for very IT literate GPs who wish to write their own specifications. This replaces the codes contained in the supporting documentation of the contract (blue book).
These codes will be updated in line with the Read code release schedule.
