Medical education A to Z

Updated November 2006

Introduction
This A to Z is a web-based resource that provides information on common terms used within medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

It is not intended to be a full glossary of terms but an information resource for individuals and organisations with an interest in medical education. This includes students considering a career in medicine, medical students, practising doctors, and organisations with a professional interest in medical education.

The A to Z is not exhaustive; it is intended to be a working tool that acts as a sign-posting resource for further information. It will be updated regularly to reflect any changes and developments within the field of medical education and the profession generally. Where possible, BMA policy has been highlighted. If you feel there is an entry missing that should be included in this A to Z, or if you have any comments on the existing entries, please contact us.
