Ovid basics: logging in from the BMA site

Logging in
You need to have registered for the member's only area of the BMA's website in order to access MEDLINE Plus.
To log in, enter your username and password in the boxes at the BMA main page, http://www.bma.org.uk, and select 'Login'. The screen will go blank for a short while then your name will appear near the top of the home page.

To get into MEDLINE Plus
1. From the BMA home page select the text link 'Medline' at the very top right of the screen; or
2. From the Library and Medline main page select the option that says 'Go to Medline Plus';

3. A new window will open up. It may show a news page. If so, select 'Continue' to proceed;
4. The MEDLINE Plus system will ask you to select which database you wish to search. Our copy of MEDLINE is divided into a number of separate databases, according to date;
5. Click the actual word Medline alongside the dates you wish to search. Clicking the Image of an information button button will take you to a brief description of the database's contents.
