Citation Manager box
If you scroll down to the bottom of the screen after performing a search, you will find the Citation Manager box.

Figure 37: Citation Manager box

Citations area: Allows you to select those citations on which the Action is performed. You can select citations from your search by clicking (placing a tick) in the boxes to the left of each numbered reference.
The system remembers these from page to page only if you use the Graphic of Previous citation(s) button and Graphic of Next citation(s) button buttons rather than the browser's back and forward buttons. If you do not select (tick) any citations, the system defaults to using the first page of ten citations.

Fields area: If you have any requirement to display specific fields (for example subject headings), then you may select them from this area. However most users prefer to leave this at the default Citation + Abstract.

Citation Format area: This can be left at Ovid format unless you are saving citations for import into bibliographic (reference manager) software, where another format may be appropriate (go to bibliographic software ).

Sort Keys: These allow sorting by author, title, year etc. The default display is by reverse chronological order of the date that they were entered into the system.

Action area: Each of these options is covered in the following sections.
