Limiting a search
Select Graphic of the limit icon from the icons along the top of the Main Search page to limit a search that you have already carried out. Select those limits in which you are interested. Some limits offer a number of alternative choices, such as publication type, language and age groups. If you wish to select more than one option within a list (eg publication types) press the ctrl key in conjunction with the left mouse button to select each one.

If you prefer, you may limit your search in advance (to local holdings, human subjects, English language, reviews, abstracts or by date). To do this, make your choice from options listed just below the Enter Keyword or phrase box, before performing your search.

It is also possible to limit the last search in the history retrospectively by simply selecting the limit options and performing the search without entering anything in the Enter Keyword or phrase box.

A note about the latest update option. This limits your results to those added in the most recent monthly update. Note that the updates reflect the date that they were entered into the system, not necessary the publication year.
