Now available - ordering BMA Library edocs via PubMed

15 August 2005

BMA Library now offers the ability for all our users to take advantage of our cheap and speedy edocs service - via PubMed. This involves either bookmarking a special BMA-specific PubMed web address or registering for the PubMed free MyNCBI service and selecting BMA as a supplier.

So now you can order from us over the phone, via forms on the BMA website, using MEDLINE Plus, or via PubMed.

Features of the PubMed method are:
  • It is cheaper than ordering over the phone, by post or by email
  • No typing required - saving you time
  • You can search and order at the same time
  • No re-typing required - details are carried through automatically
  • It is easy to find a known article by using the Single Citation Matcher feature
  • You can easily order multiple items
  • You can find out if the BMA holds a particular journal
  • You can check the status of your order via the BMA website (if a BMA member)
  • You can specify an alternative email address
  • You are sent a confirmation email for each request
If you are familiar with PubMed ordering, please proceed directly to PubMed and bookmark this link:

If you are not aware, BMA Library edocs offers a cheap and speedy service where we scan the article you need and create an electronic (PDF) file, which is then attached to an email and sent to you. Under our standard service, if you order via PubMed before 9 am on a weekday you will receive your article by email around 4 pm the next day.
