Drug information
December 2007
Relatively few enquiries are received by the library on drug information as other specialist organisations maintain better collections. Some of the library resources are listed below.
Print resources
The standard resource for information about prescription drugs and prescribing advice is the British National Formulary which is co-published by the BMA. This is a quarterly publication, the latest issue being shelved at Q Ref 17. Previous editions are kept in the basement store at B463.
Pharmacological books are held at QV 4. Pharmacopoeias are kept in the Quick Reference collection:
Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Martindale: the extra pharmacopoeia. 33rd ed. Pharmaceutical P. 2002
BMA location: Quick Ref 17
Medicines Commission. British pharmacopoeia 1998. HMSO, 1998
