BMJ indexes
The BMJ is indexed by BMA library staff. A full set of the BMJ is kept in the library and in addition a cumulated computerised index to the BMJ between 307 (1993) and the latest volume can be used to search for either subject or author information.
Research can be carried out for BMA members who are invited to contact the Reader Services Librarian to make arrangements. MEDLINE does carry details of articles in the BMJ but news items, personal views and other non-clinical material are generally omitted.
Current BMJ volume
A computer index of the current volume of the BMJ is maintained by the Reader Services Librarian. BMA members should contact him if they have enquiries about materials published in the BMJ:

BMJ website
The BMJ is available in full text (complete issue) from January 1994 at the BMJ website, and has a powerful search facility. Until January 2005, when a new access model came into place, all articles can be printed off without charge. From 2005 all research articles remain free, but others are only available to subscribers on a rolling one year basis.
