Public Health Medicine Committe

Following the transfer of community health from the Committee of Public Health Medicine and Community Health to the Central Consultants and Specialists Committee and the Staff and Associate Specialists Committee, and the redefinition of the Public Health Branch of Practice, it was confirmed at the ARM 2008 that the committee's name as of the 2008-09 session would change from the Committee of Public Health Medicine and Community Health to the Public Health Medicine Committee.

The PHMC carries out of its work through three national committees, that reflect the devolved status of public health, and through its Registrars Subcommittee.

The UK committee meets three times a year and includes representatives from its national committees, regions, and Registrars Subcommittee and members appointed by a variety of bodies including cross-representation with other BMA branch of practice committees.
