The Medical Managers subcommittee has updated the BMA's guidance on developing the role of medical directors. Because medical director roles are constantly adapting to new challenges and vary considerably from organisation to organisation the guidance will need to be adapted locally. In this edition we have taken the opportunity to reflect the increase in numbers of medical directors in primary care.
