GPs with special interests (GPwSIs)

GPs with special interests (GPwSIs) employed by a new general medical services (nGMS) practice or primary care organisation (PCO) since 1 April 2004 must be offered at least the model salaried GP terms and conditions. We also recommend that all employed doctors receive no less favourable terms than these. The General Practitioners Committee (GPC) has produced the Focus on salaried GPs guidance - go there now on employment terms for all employed GPs, and we recommend that GPwSIs and their employers refer to the GPC's job planning guidance go there now.
