Regional BMA meetings to discuss SHA visions under the NHS next stage review : summary of feedback
July 2008
A series of eight extraordinary regional BMA meetings, under the established BMA regional council structures, took place across England in May and June 2008 to coincide with publication of SHAs’ visions.
The purpose of the meetings was as follows:
- To allow BMA members the opportunity to learn more about, discuss and consider SHA’s vision/proposals and their implications;
- To facilitate further local input into the regional review process by providing the opportunity for the SHA to hear the views of a wider group of doctors; and
- To facilitate discussion and establish stronger links between the SHA and BMA regionally.
The summary, which can be downloaded using the link on the right hand side of the page, provides a flavour of the discussion at, and tone of, the meetings.
