Sci59 online psychometric test
Do you want practical and impartial guidance before committing to a medical career choice or speciality?
The BMA has teamed up with the Open University to provide members with free access* to Sci59 for one year. Sci59 is a psychometric test designed to provide a list of medical career choices that are impartial and based only on your personal characteristics.
About Sci59
Sci59 is a psychometric test designed to provide a list of medical career choices that reasonably match your personal profile.
The output of Sci59 is free of partiality and provides a rational view of the specialties that match your needs. But we stress that this is only a guide and a stimulus to further investigation into potentially suitable career choices. Both individuals and specialties are subject to change and development.
How to access Sci59
Subject to availability you will be allowed to complete four questionnaires over the course of the next year. As Sci59 is online you have the advantage of being able to start and stop a questionnaire at any place or time and the programme will always take you back to the point at which you had previously logged off.
The questionnaire takes around 25 minutes to complete and feedback is almost instantaneous. Remember, the results act as merely a guide for your consideration and is not a replacement for formal career guidance.

* Subject to availability, you will have during one calendar year access to Sci59 and be allowed to complete four questionnaires. The BMA reserves the right to remove access to Sci59 at any time without prior notice.
