Changes to the application system for some consultant grades mean that applicants are now required to produce CVs and present their skills and experience in an interview situation.
This workshop allows you to take a fresh and practical look at how effective medical CVs are built and how to sell yourself in an interview. The first half of the workshop is designed to give you the confidence and ability to build your CV and identify ways that will make yours stand out from the crowd. The second half will give you the chance to develop the skills and confidence you need to excel at your interview. You will have the opportunity to review and get feedback on your CV and gain interview practice.
The key learning benefits you’ll gain from attending are:
- Understand the role of the CV within the medical recruitment process
- Build a CV (personal data bank) of your skills and experience for any future applications and interviews
- Review your own experience with relation to the job
- Look at the content and layout of a medical CV
- Understand the structure of interviews and the importance of preparation
- Learn effective techniques to sell your CV in an interview
- Gain top tips on image and personal presentation
Feedback received
‘Excellent. Practising interviews in front of a large panel was realistic and good practice for the day.’
‘I thought the workshop was well structured and the informal environment allowed for good discussion opportunities. The mock interviews were eye-opening and the suggested question sheets useful for interview practice. Thank you.’
‘More informal than I thought. It created a “safe” confidential environment well. There were also good handouts with list of questions and ideas to access political/NHS info.’
‘A helpful way to improve your CV and improve your chance of succeeding in an interview.’
