GP trainers: CPD payment for 2006/07
October 2007
GP trainers should have received a £750 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) payment in 2006/07 (as they did in 2005/06). This payment should also have been available for trainers whether or not they had a GP registrar at the time. We understand that GP trainers in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have received this. We are though concerned that some GP trainers in England may still be awaiting this payment. The GPC is therefore taking central action about this, and has also drawn it to the attention of the Doctors' and Dentists' Review Body (DDRB).
GP trainers who have not yet received the CPD payment for 2006/07 may wish to contact their local medical committee (LMC) to check on the local position or contact their deanery directly for details of when the payment will be made. If you still do not receive the payment, please email jgoodway@bma.org.uk with 'no CPD payment and [your region]' in the email heading so that we can record how many outstanding payments there currently are.
